Well done to the Intermediate girls this morning in the league game v Drumclff Rosses Point with a score line of 5/11 to 3/11 . There were super scores from the forwards  in first half and held the opposition off in the second half with great defensive work from the backs ! Speedy recovery to Aisling Egan who picked up an injury . It's encouraging to welcome the returning ladies to the squad !! Excited to have the crew back together .Our senior hurlers played Western Gaels in Enniscrone this morning but lost out by 3 points.
Well done to Lauren Normanly who played for Sligo in the half way game in McHale Park today and scored a goal and 3 points . Lauren was wearing  the no 7 jersey as was Senior Sligo Tourlestrane man John Kelly. Comiserations to the Sligo team who were unlucky against Mayo .
Our u14 boys played Eastern Harps friday night, away in cold and wet conditions. Tourlestrane were looking to keep their place as top of the group, Harps went into the game in second place, with a chance to topple the league leaders.
Harps started the game well, taking a one point lead. Four unanswered tourlestrane points soon followed. Four goals were equally shared before half time, ours coming from Jack Lundy and Darren Gallagher. As the rain died off, the teams went into the second half with five points between them, 2-6 to 2-1 in favour of the green and gold.
The second half saw a total of 9 goals, 7 of which scored by tourlestrane. Points from Kevin Brennan and Aidan marren also added to the tally. The backs worked extremely hard to hold off the Harps attack, Raymond Clarke, Diarmuid Monaghan and Conor Surlis supplied ball to the half forward line of Jessie Surlis, Danny Cawley and Ethan Kennedy all game, as the full back line of Tom Bailey, Adrian Walsh and Robbie Ohara kept the pressure off Zack Nealon's goal.
The game finished 9-10 to 4-3.
The next outing for the u14s comes this Monday night, at home to Shamrock Gaels.
Tourlestrane; Zack Nealon; Tom Bailey, Adrian Walsh, Robbie Ohara; Conor Surlis, Diarmuid Monaghan(1-0), Raymond Clarke; Jack Lundy(3-1), Kevin Brennan(0-2);Jessie Surlis, Danny Cawley, Ethan Kennedy(1-1); Cormac Dolan(1-0), Aidan Marren(1-5), Darren Gallagher(2-1); Evan Brennan, Darragh Connolly, Michael McIntyre, Ollie Allyward.
