The Senior Men got their league campaign off to a winning start with a 1-11 to 1-2 victory over St. Farnans on Saturday evening last in the opening round of the league. Having played some great football, scores from play came through Brian Egan 1-1, Gerry McGowan 3pts, James Leonard and Alan Dunne 2pts each and Gary Gaughan, Diarmuid Dunne and Shane Dunne 1pt each. The team play St. Molaise Gaels under the lights this Friday night, the 16th of March, at 8pm in round 2 of the league in Tourlestrane. All support welcome. The minor boys team will play their first round of the league on Monday the 19th of March with a home tie to Shamerock Gaels at 12. Congratulation to our minor players who were part of the victorious St. Attracta's CS senior boys team who captured the Connaught Schools B Championship on Saturday last against Rice College, Westport. The club was well represented with Barry Walsh, Padraig Leonard, Aaron Murtagh, John Kelly, Cathal Henry, Andrew Kennedy, John Carr and Brian Walsh. Congratuations also to senior player, Gary Gaughan, who is a selector with the team. Senior and Minor ladies training continues this Friday the 16th of March from 7-8pm. A St Patricks day teenage disco takes place this bank holiday weekend, Sunday the 18th of March in Banada Hall. Congratulations and best wishes to Sinead Manley, Aclare, who got married at the weekend. The club extends sympathy to the family, neighbours and friends of Bridie Egan, Castlerock on her passing last week. Ar dheis Dé go raibh Siad.
