Club Notes: 5th of August 2012

Congratulations to the Division 4 team on a great league campaign, the team were recently crowned 2012 champions. Captain John Egan was presented with the cup on Friday night last in Tourlestrane. The team play Calry/St. Josephs in the second leg of the quarter final of the Junior B Championship in Tourlestrane on Friday night at 7.30. Please show your support for the newly crowned league champions.

Reminder that the Senior men resume action in the 3rd round of the championship this Saturday the 11th of August in Markievicz Park when they take on St. Molaise Gaels. The club asks that supporters get their flags out and come out and show their support for the team as they strive to win back to back championship titles.
The club would like to wish Senior players Shane Dunne and Gary Gaughan speedy recoveries.

The minor team play in the third round of the 'A' Championship tonight (Wednesday) at 7pm. The team take on St. Marys at home. Having won their previous two games, the team sit top of their group. This game is important for the team with one more game remaining and your support for the team would be greatly appreciated.

The U-16 team play Geevagh on Monday the 13th of August at home. The round 4 game starts at 7pm. The team were unlucky in their last outing losing by the minimum of margins to St. Farnans on a final score of 5-13 to 7-6.

The U-14 team take on neighbours Curry on Thursday night at 7pm in Curry in round 2 of their championship. Having beaten Calry/St. Josephs in the first round, the team are hoping to build on the performance to record their second win in a row.

The Senior ladies game due to be played on Sunday last was cancelled as St. Michaels have withdrawn from the competition. The team play Geevagh this Sunday in Geevagh at 12. Best wishes to Anna Corcoran and Lilly Wadley next weekend when they represent the club and county in the U-16 B All Ireland final. The team play Cavan in Cloonee, Longford on Saturday at 4pm.

Congratulations to Marie Surlis, Tourlestrane, on her marriage at the weekend.
