Our senior teams made a good start to the Championship this weekend with the Senior lads winning their game in a hard fought battle in Markievicz Park last night against Drumcliff Rosses Point and the Junior Men’s encounter this afternoon showed a resilient team dig deep to the final whistle to win by the smallest of margins against a well organised Owenmore Gaels team.

At 10.30 this morning the Minor girls played Eastern Harps in their third game of the championship and this team showed huge back bone and worked tremendously as a team , never giving  up to the end and showed they meant business and wanted this win and it paid off with huge respect given to our younger team members who added so much to the game.

Friday night last our Minor lads played their first round of the championship at home to Molaise Gaels but were unlucky to lose by a point in a thrilling game of football. Hard luck also to our u12 boys who put up a strong second half performance in Enniscrone last Tuesday evening but the stronger team won on the night.

Tuesday night next Aug 15th is a date for your diary as our Senior Men play Killannin of Galway in the Leo Kenny Cup Final in Connacht Centre of Excellence at 8pm so please come out and support the team and management.

Congratulations to Curry’s Red Og Murphy  who was named Electric Irelands Minor Football Player of the week for his All Ireland Quarter final performance
