Notes for the week :
Our main match of the week was on Tuesday night in the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence Ballyhaunis where our Senior men overcame a strong Kilannin team to win the Leo Kenny Cup for the first time since 2011. The two teams seemed well matched by the midway mark after Tourlestrane had been lagging behind for the first 20 minutes. The second half kept the spectators thrilled as the game continued with great excitement and both teams battled it out to the final whistle with the score Tourlestrane 16 points to Killannins 1/11and the Leo Kenny was raised by captain James Leonard. Well done to the team and managers Eamonn O Hara and Gerry Mc Gowan with Michael Gallagher.
Our u16 girls had a big win in their game away to Drumcliff on Thursday night and the u14 boys were unlucky in their game v a stronger Molaise Gaels team on Friday night at home.
Our u12 boys took part in a blitz in Curry on Saturday morning and played some excellent football and made it through to the Michael Haran Cup Final but were eventually beaten. Thank you to Curry GAA for a super morning of football for our future stars.
Congratulations to Paddy Henry Aclare, manager and the Sligo Ladies team who overcame Roscommon today Sunday on a scoreline of 3/8 to 1/6 in the All Ireland Quarter Final.
Congratulations also to Conan Marren who added 2 more All Ireland Medals to his collection in the Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann 2017 this weekend in Ennis.
Well done to all our club members who received their leaving cert results this week and best wishes to them in their future paths !!!!
The club wishes to extend sympathy to the Carty Family on the passing of their mother Mary Carty Clooncagh during the week. Ar dheis Dé go raibh sí .
