Our u21 lads began their campaign this afternoon in an unusually warm October day and although this competition is played off very late in the year and after the euphoria of last weekend's 2 in a row for the Senior men, this clash between St Mary's and Tourlestrane younger men always promised to be a well contested 60 mins of action ! Throughout the nail biting game both teams swapped leads on more than one occasion with st Mary's having the lead of 2/6 to 7 points at half time . That said the keepers at both ends of the field denied the forwards certain goals more than once but the Tourlestrane team managed by Neil Egan Eamon Durkin and Diarmuid Dunne seemed to up their game after the dressing room talk mid way and came out looking more hungry for the win than they had in the first 30 and at one stage led by 4 points. However St Mary's were always biting at their heels and came back to level it off before our lads with some handy mid fielding from the well placed kick outs and working the ball through to the hard working forwards won out by the narrowest of margins to earn their place in the next round ! Score at the final whistle Tourlestrane 3/13 St Mary's 2/15 . Well done to all !
Congratulations to the Sligo Gaelic Masters who had a strong win Saturday afternoon v Cavan Masters in Drumlish especially our club men and this sees the team through to the All Ireland Final in 2 weeks time v Mayo Masters .
Well done to all the Banada Banshee Bash crew who once again this year with the willing assistance of our teenagers  particularly the Minor teams successfully scared the livers out of a huge volume of people who dared to walk the forest and to those braver still who took to the creepy stairways of the 'convent' the three nights of this weekend ! Not for the faint hearted but a Halloween experience certainly not to be missed !!! Maith sibh go léir ... I for one was petrified !!!
Best of luck to our Minor Hurlers tomorrow who face Naomh Eoin at the pitch at 12 noon and our u14 girls take part in he Rachael Herbert Tournament in Knockmore tomorrow morning so best of luck to the teams and management ! 💚💛
