In the sunshine of Castlebar this afternoon our Connacht dreams came to an abrupt end And the outcome in Mc Hale park was not the result that we wanted and had worked so hard for, but there can be but one winner and today that team was Castlebar Mitchels .
In football sometimes you lose and there is nothing to do but admit it
It's all part of the game.
At the half time whistle it looked like we could have had the game as easily as not with both teams level at 7 points each but Tourlestrane should have capitalised on having won the toss and playing with the breeze in the first half but after returning to the field Tourlestrane looked busy for the opening few minutes of the second half, it was then the stronger more experienced Castlebar Mitchels pulled away and took some fine scores leaving our lads with too much to do and at the final whistle the hope of the Connacht final was over for this year for us . We wish Castlebar Mitchels the best of luck in their final v Corofin .
That does not take away from a great year for Eamonn Gerry Michael and a mighty group of lads who have won the two in a row and have given the supporters many an exciting day out all season !
