Best of luck to the St Attracta’s CS 1st years that play the Connacht Final this Friday against St Joseph’s of Galway. We are well represented by Martin Carr, Darren Leonard, Liam Gaughan, Darren O’Hara, Richard Lang, Naoise Leonard, Eoin Leonard, Daniel Clarke, Cian O Hara and  Conor Walsh all on the panel.

Congratulations to all the participants in the Community Games which were held in the Park on Sunday last , the downpour at the start didn’t dampen the great spirit and commitment shown by all from the tiny tots up, thanks to the committee for organising the evenings events and best of luck to all who go on to represent the area in the County Finals.

Also on Sunday we had the unique sight of over 70 tractors in Convoy on the road from Rhue to Tourlestrane for the Martin Brennan Memorial Tractor Drive in aid of Croí. Martin’s MF 20 lead the convoy and there were crowds lining the route at Banada, The Pitch in Tourlestrane and the Village before the tractors all turned up to the new training field  arriving at their final destination of Banada Abbey Hall where all the participants and stewards were rewarded with ample refreshments.   The whole day was a fantastic success and thanks to all who collected sponsorship, made sandwiches, provided stewarding or just came out to support this very worthy cause, Donations can still be sent to The Brennan family Rhue who would like to pass on their thanks to everyone involved, there will be a formal presentation of the funds raised to Croí on the 25th of June in Flynn’s in Aclare.

We will hold a medal presentation for our adult winners of last year in The Yeats County Inn in Curry on Friday the 20th May, The Ladies Intermediate Championship Football Medals and the  Senior Men’s Footballers, Hurlers League Medals will be presented on the night. Tickets are €15 including a meal and are available from Brendan Leonard and  David McVeigh more details will be on the website this week.

The u14 hurling league continues when we travel to Castleconnor on Wednesday night while our minors throw in at the same venue in the 11 aside football league on Thursday evening. On Friday the u14 footballers travel to Coolera in the league while our Senior Hullers host Coolera in Tourlestrane in the Dermot Molloy League on Friday night at 7.30.
